HUNTRESS released their buzzworthy debut album "Spell Eater" on April 27, 2012 via Napalm Records. The album, which Metal Hammer calls "a magical debut from the hottest new act of 2012, " was just the beginning for the Southern California heavy metal pentad. Huntress recorded their second album "Starbound Beast" with producer Zeuss (SHADOWS FALL, HATEBREED, AGNOSTIC FRONT) at Hobby Shop Studios in Los Angeles. "Starbound Beast" is released via Napalm Records, 2013. HUNTRESS was spawned from the preternatural union of Jill Janus with underground metal bands PROFESSOR and DARK BLACK. HUNTRESS vocalist Jill Janus states the band's inspiration for the album came the cosmos. "I began to open the stargate with "Spell Eater", and specifically the song "Sleep and Death" which references deep space. We are children of Earth, but crave the stars, the vast galactic unknown. I began writing the second album while on tour last summer in Europe. I'd wake up at odd hours while everyone slept and began receiving lyrics and melodies that were expanding beyond my knowledge of the occult."
