Achillea is not just another band! Achillea is about people coming together to create amazing hard hitting, memorable music with passion.
Achillea was formed by British born guitarist and songwriter Paul Jupe and drummer Garry King. During late 2011 they started working on some original material that they felt would gain interest from an international audience, so started the process of writing and recording a number of tracks for possible release.
The original concept was to build a band that pulled people together from around the world which it indeed did. Garry (Joe Lynn Turner, Jeff Beck) and Paul pulled in some of their musician resources to involve a number of other great artists to the project including fellow 'Joe Lynn Turner' 2009/10 band mate Betovani Dinelli.
In early 2012, after already recording on a number of the sessions, keyboard player extraordinaire Fab Jablonski officially joined the ranks of Achillea.
On June 27th Humberto 'H' Sobrinho ex Hangar (Aquiles Priester) power house vocalist and front man officially joined the band. H then started his personal journey recording vocals for the first single 'Imprisoned' and soon recorded the vocals for the complete album ‘Fight or Fall'
Drummer and Producer Garry King says "H was the first person I contacted when we knew we were ready to approach vocalists. I met him back in 2010 and knew that he was the perfect choice and, he took us to another level delivering amazing performances on all the tracks" In July 2012 press went out welcoming this great artist to the family worldwide.
Now ready for live shows bassist Gus Magalhaes and backing vocalist Paula Melf (2012) came to Achillea and now the full live band line up was ready to roll. November 2012 took Achillea to Brazil to record an official live HD DVD to back the debut album and single creating the ultimate promotion package. During this visit they also shot the official video for the song "Wish You Well" (now online) which is the most commercial track on the album with a strong message and a live in the studio video for "Stronger" which will be released soon.
Late 2012 the title track of the album was chosen by a film company for a new TV series to air later this year in the USA giving the band a massive boost in that region.
To this end Achillea has songs that stick in your mind, songs that have a meaning and have longevity reminiscent of so many of the great bands and writers of the past. Achillea is like nothing you have heard before!
The album tracks were recorded and produced in studios in France, UK, Brazil, Greece and the USA.
Achillea is currently working on a 2013 tour starting in South America to follow the first release.
