Some of us may know a nano- version of that feeling: you come out of a dramatic, existential experience, like a survival after being lost for hours in the wilderness or ocean or after an involvement in a terrible car crash or event. You have just one wish, namely to get back to your old life, but this old life cannot be reinstated fully, despite the fact that all surround you, family and friends are here to support you and offer you back the old life. This is particularly true for all persons having wartime or catastrophic experiences, and who when returning to their safe and familiar home base, carry with them this unbearable and tormenting feeling that, despite of how much everybody attempts with all efforts to comfort you, the home will never be the same, not because home has changed, but because you have, as you carry with you all the unbearable and immense burden of your memories, traumata and experiences that keep haunting you, even – and sometimes even more so – when back home.

Al Terego & the Hi Q's - Kick Up The Dust. For this song we were inspired by a wonderful script for a motion picture called “Easy Does It” planned, shot and produced by a bunch of crazy and great friends in New Orleans, the same crowd we had made a number of music videos with. This has therefore become a tribute song to this marvelous indie road movie, which at the time of the release of this video will be shown for the firt time at the NOLA Festival and will hopefully soon see light and fame. The theme of the song is very “Herald and Maude” / “Thelma and Louise” and should be a tribute anthem for freeing ourselves and to strive for our dreams, taking risks, even if all may lead us straight to and possibly over a cliff! All of this is still much better than destroying ourselves slowly in apathy and lethargy.
